AMD to Fix Graphics Card Latency with New Driver

AMD's Graphics CoreNext architecture has been one of AMD's main subjects of discussion for months, but not all is perfect in paradise, apparently. Graphics cards from the Radeon HD 7000 line have shown this.

GCN graphics cards suffer from frame-delivery latency to the point where they come in second to NVIDIA-made alternatives.

The problem was discovered during a test carried out by The Tech Report, involving the AMD Radeon HD 7950 and NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 660 Ti.

Basically, AMD Catalyst drivers need to be refined before they work fine with GCN GPUs, due to different memory management techniques compared to VLIW (the previous GPU architecture model).
